The 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney made a vivid and lasting impression of aboriginal culture on the world. Then came the record-breaking television series Survivor, the Austrlian Outback. These global broadcasts brought the rich sound of the Australian Aborigines to the mainstream. The didgeridoo is made from cutting a 1-2 meter section of a eucalyptus tree that has been hollowed out by hungry termites. Its performance consists of vibrating the lips while employing a circular breathing technique that causes the inside of the performer's mouth, as well as the inside of the instrument, to resonate. This dual sound is incredibly mysterious, and is captured perfectly on this popular collection. Harmonica - Nature Boy - Music Sheet - Nat King Cole | This song features a harmonica playing the main melody. This is accompanied by percussion playing a simple beat with the focus on the snare. The bass plays the root note of the chord. Due to the low quality of the audio, the other instruments cannot be heard. T. | 2008-01-31T13:16:17Z | alliax | http://www.ALLIAX.net Please comment my videos. Nature Boy by Eden Ahbez played on chromatic harmonica. There's a famous version by Nat King Cole, search for it on YouTube, you'll like it. I've added the music sheet to the video, but at the end there was a glitch and it's all black now. Doesn't matter much since it's three times the same melody... Ahbez composed the song which told a fantasy of a "strange enchanted boy... who wandered very far" only to learn that "the greatest thing... was just to love and be loved in return." The Yiddish songwriter Herman Yablakoff alleged that the melody to "Nature Boy" came from his song "Sveig Mein Hartz" ("Be Still My Heart"); his legal action was settled out of court. Actually, one needs go further back to Antonin Dvorak's Piano Quintet No. 2 in A, Opus 81 (1887). The melody of Nature Boy sits there loud and clear in multiple passages. This Dvorak piece is considered by some to be the greatest piece of chamber music ever composed. There were most probably Yiddish theaters in Prague during that period in history ... or perhaps Mr. Yablakoff was influenced by the classics.
