The Evolution of Nintendo Music | The low quality recording features a groovy piano melody, played over, groovy bass guitar, punchy kick and snare hits, shimmering hi hats, shimmering crash cymbal and short electric guitar lick. It sounds energetic, fun, happy, joyful and like an in-game video game sound. | 2014-06-04T07:21:43Z | New Game Plus | Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/New-Game-Plus/482456688541187 Twitter: https://twitter.com/NewGamePlusBand All of the compositions in this video belong to Nintendo/the companies who created the games, we claim no ownership of them whatsoever. This is The Evolution of Nintendo Music, which goes all the way up from the NES to the Wii (Note that for arrangement purposes, we decided to go by system rather than strictly chronologically). When we first saw "The Video Game Rock Medley" by FreddeGredde, we thought to ourselves "why isn't there MORE stuff like this out there?" So, right then and there, New Game Plus was born, and we started creating this medley. The final product turned out to be 22 songs packed into 9 minutes of phenomenal music! Enjoy. Song timestamps (spoilers ahead!): NES: 0:00 - Overworld Theme (Super Mario Bros 2) 0:07 - Dr. Wily's Castle (MegaMan 2) 0:26 - Fever (Dr. Mario) 0:53 - Vampire Killer (Castlevania) 1:19 - Excitebike Title Theme (Excitebike) SNES: 1:28- Jungle Japes (Donkey Kong Country) 2:02 - Gourmet Race (Kirby Super Star) 2:25 - Yearnings of the Wind (Chrono Trigger) N64: 2:51 - Facility (GoldenEye 007) 3:19 - Gerudo Valley (The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time) 3:51 - Grunty's Furnace Fun (Banjo Kazooie) 4:23 - Majora's Theme (The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask) 4:58 - Diddy Kong Racing Title Theme (Diddy Kong Racing) Game Boy: 5:23 - Trainer Battle (Pokémon) 5:48 - Theme A (Tetris) GameCube: 6:04 - Gamecube startup (Gamecube) 6:12 - Metroid Prime Title Theme (Metroid Prime) 6:44 - Menu 1 (Super Smash Bros Melee) Wii: 7:15 - Wii Shopping Channel Theme (Wii System Music) 7:38 - Green Greens (Kirby's Epic Yarn) 8:04 - Hyrule Field Theme (The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess) 8:47 - Zelda's Lullaby (Various Legend of Zelda games) And of course shout outs to the spectacular composers that have come up with these various themes, without you video game music (and music in general for that matter) would not be the same today. Thanks for all of the inspiration. | ["Video game music", "Guitar", "Music", "Musical instrument", "Keyboard (musical)", "Piano"] | ["low quality", "punchy snare", "shimmering hi hats", "groovy bass guitar", "short electric guitar lick", "groovy piano melody", "shimmering crash cymbal", "energetic", "fun", "happy", "joyful", "in game sound"] | 4 | IjP5kKfgBiI | 1934 | |
Chuck Berry and Etta James - Rock N Roll Music | The low quality recording features a live performance of a rock & roll song performed by passionate female vocal and male vocal ad libs, followed by groovy piano melody, funky electric guitar melody, groovy bass guitar, shimmering hi hats, punchy snare and soft kick hits. It is a bit noisy and there are some subtle microphone feedback sounds in the middle of the performance. It sounds energetic, vintage and passionate. | 2012-03-10T00:09:38Z | John1948ThreeA | Chuck Berry (Charles Edward Anderson Berry - born Oct. 18, 1926, St. Louis, Mo., U.S.) singer, songwriter, and guitarist who was one of the most popular and influential performers in rhythm-and-blues and rock-and-roll music in the 1950s, '60s, and '70s. Raised in a working-class African-American neighbourhood on the north side of the highly segregated city of St. Louis, Berry grew up in a family proud of its African-American and Native-American ancestry. He gained early exposure to music through his family's participation in the choir of the Antioch Baptist Church, through the blues and country-western music he heard on the radio, and through music classes, especially at Sumner High School. Berry was still attending high school when he was sent to serve three years for armed robbery at a Missouri prison for young offenders. After his release and return to St. Louis, he worked at an auto plant, studied hairdressing, and played music in small nightclubs. Berry traveled to Chicago in search of a recording contract; Muddy Waters directed him to the Chess brothers. Leonard and Phil Chess signed him for their Chess label, and in 1955 his first recording session produced Maybellene (a country-and-western-influenced song that Berry had originally titled Ida Red), which stayed on the pop charts for 11 weeks, cresting at number five. Berry followed this success with extensive tours and hit after hit, including Roll Over Beethoven (1956), School Day (1957), Rock and Roll Music (1957), Sweet Little Sixteen (1958), Johnny B. Goode (1958), and Reelin' and Rockin' (1958). His vivid descriptions of consumer culture and teenage life, the distinctive sounds he coaxed from his guitar, and the rhythmic and melodic virtuosity of his piano player (Johnny Johnson) made Berry's songs staples in the repertoire of almost every rock-and-roll band. At the peak of his popularity, federal authorities prosecuted Berry for violating the Mann Act, alleging that he transported an underage female across state lines for immoral purposes. Webisode 8: The Sound Of Music | The low quality recording features a compilation of rock songs in-between which there is a flat male vocal talking. At the very beginning there is a short snippet of a groovy piano melody and fruity male vocal singing over it. After that, there is an even shorter snippet of a song that consists of acoustic rhythm guitar and a male vocalist singing over it. And at the end of the loop, there is a fade in into a flat male vocal singing with background vocals over punchy kick, punchy snare, shimmering cymbals, distorted bass guitar and electric guitar melody. Overall it sounds weird and chaotic, due to the arrangement of the sounds, but it is also energetic. | 2008-08-05T09:05:06Z | weezer | The Sound Of Music Tour Dates after the jump (since the press release is live): Sep 23 Boston, MA Tsongas Arena Sep 24 New York, NY Madison Square Garden Sep 26 Atlantic City, NJ Borgata Casino Sep 27 Philadelphia, PA Susquehanna Center Sep 29 Detroit, MI The Palace of Auburn Hills Sep 30 Toronto, ON Air Canada Center Oct 2 Chicago, IL All State Arena Oct 3 St. Paul, MN Xcel Arena Oct 5 Denver, CO Broomfield Oct 7 Salt Lake City, UT E Center Oct 9 Portland OR Memorial Coliseum Oct 10 Vancouver, BC GM Place Oct 11 Seattle, WA Key Arena Oct 13 San Jose, CA Events Center Oct 14 Los Angeles, CA The Forum Oct 17 San Diego, CA Cox Arena Oct 18 Phoenix, AZ Arizona State Fair Oct 20 Austin, TX Frank Erwin Center Oct 21 Dallas, TX Nokia Theater Oct 23 Houston, TX Reliant Arena Oct 25 Atlanta, GA Gwinnett Arena | ["Music", "Speech", "Exciting music"] | ["compilation", "fade in", "rock", "groovy piano melody", "fruity male vocal", "flat male vocals", "low quality", "punchy snare", "punchy kick", "shimmering cymbals", "background vocals", "electric guitar chords", "acoustic rhythm guitar", "distorted bass guitar", "chaotic", "energetic", "weird"] | 4 | hwe6y-jSqdQ | 4152 |
