World Percussionist:Tom Teasley "REFLECTIONS" FOR SABIAN CROTALES, WAVE DRUM, MELODICA AND LOOPER | The low quality recording features a shimmering, widely spread, bell melody. It sounds soft, mellow and haunting. The recording is a bit noisy. | 2012-09-03T12:31:28Z | Tom Teasley | This is another piece inspired by the beautiful story of "Gilgamesh". I'll be performing this live in May for Constellation Theatre Company at Source Theatre This piece uses extended techniques for crotales including playing with a bass bow and hand dampening. I created a loop on the Korg Wavedrum live and double the crotale part on the melodica. No editing was used in this except sound mixing. It is a complete live performance. Special thanks to Sabian for the beautiful instrument. As always thank you for checking out my work. Introducing the Moog Polyphonic Theremin | The low quality recording features a widely spread, polyphonic theremin lead melody. The recording itself is very noisy, which can be heard at the very end of the loop, where a female narrator is introduced. | 2011-03-31T17:56:38Z | Moog Music Inc | Introduced in 1928, the Theremin is one of the earliest and most widely known electronic instruments. Played artists that manipulate invisible energy fields around antennas which control the pitch and volume of the sound, Theremin music has distinguished hit records from such diverse artists as The Beach Boys, Led Zeppelin, Clara Rockmore and Linkin Park. Today (April 1st), Moog Music designers carrying on the legacy of visionary founder, Robert Moog have announced the first major technical Theremin design advance in over 40 years. The PolyTheremin™ incorporates bleeding edge IsoDirectional Inductive Oscillator Technology, to isolate space around five individual pitch antennas thus enabling each to be played simultaneously (finger-by-finger) without interference from its companion antennas. This revolutionary concept breaks the long held belief that the Theremin could only be monophonic instrument. The PolyTheremin ships with Dorit Chrysler's instructional video "Playing the PolyTheremin is Even Easier Than Playing a Monophonic Theremin."
