Traditional Libyan Music | This folk song features the lead melody played on a rebab instrument which sounds like violins. This song has a Middle-Eastern melody. This is accompanied by traditional Middle-Eastern percussion. A tambourine is played in the background. The other instruments are not clear due to the low quality of the audio. There are no voices in this song. This is an instrumental song. This song can be played at a village scene in a movie. | 2007-04-01T02:38:49Z | dooli1981 | I couldn't find any traditional Libyan music, specifically Malouf (which i'm a fan of!), and so thought I would fill the gap! Enjoy! This type of music is known as Maluf. It originated in Andalusia Spain when the Arabs ruled most of Spain. When the Arabs were expelled from Spain some of them went to North Africa and took this type of music with them. As a result Morocco, Tunisia & Algeria also have a similar style of Maluf music although it is known by a different name in those countries. (find out more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andalusian_classical_music). The artist that sung the song in my video is called Hassan Arabi. There are many groups in Libya who sing Maluf, but Hassan Arabi and his group are one of the most well known. If you would like to download this song (it's called Tarz Ar Rayhaan) and others you can get them here: www.mediafire.com/folder/1mv7cpn7q1yq1/Libyan_Maloof | ["Music", "Middle Eastern music"] | ["low quality audio", "folk song", "no voices", "instrumental", "rebab harmony", "tambourine", "middle-eastern melody"] | 0 | Yw28B_xflHk | 3323 | |
