Rare Buwathay F made for ceremony! | Someone is playing a didgeridoo using circular breathing to continue airflow. A percussive stick sound can be heard and in the background you can hear waves of water. This song may be playing at the beach practicing didgeridoo by yourself. | 2007-03-12T07:32:52Z | ididjaustralia | You don't often come across an instrument that was made specifically for ceremony. This yirdaki is one such instrument, made by Larry Winiwini's dhuway or brother-in-law, Buwathay Munyarryun. Buwathay is an older brother of Djakapurra and a noted manikaymirr or songman. He makes yirdaki occasionally for sale, but this instrument stands apart from the others for the reason that it was made for ceremony. Light and thin-walled, this is a rare stick that gives insight into instruments prefered by Yolngu for personal and ceremonial use. It has a totally natural termite-eaten bore, quite smooth with few convolutions inside giving clean yet traditional gruff acoustics. Resonance is very good on account of thin walls. This stick has a great energy of its own... a truly wonderful yirdaki that would appeal to the trad head or the purist - when nothing but the best would do! http://www.ididj.com.au/store/fine_didjeridus.html | ["Didgeridoo", "Music"] | ["didgeridoo", "circular breathing", "water sound", "percussive sound", "fast tempo", "amateur recording"] | 6 | 4Psj5jYa7a4 | 566
Bob Marley Jammin - One Love Peace Concert | This is the opening of a reggae song played live during a performance. There is a saxophone playing a solo as the lead. An electric guitar and a bass guitar play the tune in the background. The acoustic drums follow a basic, repetitive reggae beat. The song could be played at a bar or a coffee house. | 2007-03-12T07:33:30Z | ae86user | Marley making history in one love peace concert | ["Swing music", "Music"] | ["reggae", "live performance", "concert", "saxophone", "electric guitar", "bass guitar", "acoustic drums", "relaxing"] | 9 | XKp670Yh0E0 | 3177
Ginger Baker´s " visual drum roll" reveiled | The low quality recording features a drums solo that contains manic tom rolls and a ride cymbal one shot at the end. There was an exhale sound once the player finished his performance. The recording is very noisy, in mono and it sounds aggressive and energetic. | 2007-03-12T16:29:16Z | rootheart | VERY EASY, but sounds and looks dramatic: This is an exercise I once learned from "Ginger Baker´s Drumbook", quote "It does not only sound dramatic, but it looks amazing as the right hand is moving around the kit counterclockwise, while the left hand is moving around clockwise"...in fact extremely basic, but played fast once in a song or repeated in a solo it might be extremely impressive.. how to use it is all up t o you.. Triplets: RLR LRL... (R)mounted tom, (L)snare, (R)snare,- (L)mounted tom, (R)floortom, (L)floortom. P.S: Audio and video do not really match, it is just a simple cellphone recording. Posted a long time ago to share the lick with those who didn´t kow it yet, not to impress anyone out there. "Never play to impress the drummer from the other Band". "I no not muffle my drums, I want them to ring"..."I lock the breatherhole with a bold and a nut"" ...Quotes from Ginger Baker´s Drumbook | ["Drum", "Drum roll", "Rimshot", "Snare drum", "Bass drum", "Percussion"] | ["low quality", "noisy", "drums solo", "manic tom rolls", "distorted", "mono", "exhale", "energetic", "aggressive", "ride cymbal one shot"] | 4 | bJVogLOURmc | 3615 |
