The tempo is fast with an enthusiastic, vigorous drumming riff. The drummer uses the snare and bass drum to create a thumping beat. Hearing the drum mix by itself will actually give you a very good idea what it takes to mix an additional layer of drums (mine!) into an existing and, essentially, finished song:\n\nKick, snare and toms, are LOUD and especially articulate. The mix is also very bright. This coupled with a slight high-pass filter on the track underneath (in this case, Try It Out by Skrillex) immediately makes my drums pop out more, and without this approach my drum mix would be drowned out by the already loudly mastered version of Try It Out. My goal is to get the track underneath as loud as possible (for full immersion) while still hearing every note I am playing on the drums. Tricky balance, and very subjective!\n\nStoked to make these drums-only mixes and videos available to you guys! It should make some things a bit clearer.\n______________________________\n\nI very proudly endorse the following companies:\n\nDW Drums & Hardware\nSabian Cymbals\nEvans Drumheads\nPromark Sticks\nLogitech Ultimate Ears IEM's (PRM)\nPresonus\nSamson\nGoPro\n\nThis video was shot 100% GoPro,\nwith 9 Hero 3+ cameras, in 1080p at 24fps.\n\nRecorded and mixed using Cubase 7\nEdited using Sony Vegas\n\nFilmed and recorded at Drum Channel Studios,\nOxnard, California, USA.\nhttp://www.drumchannel.com\n\nThis video is part of The Quadrum Series and was filmed, edited, engineered, mixed, mastered, and produced in its entirety by Cobus Potgieter.\n\nNO drum replacement was done in this mix, this is a 100% acoustically recorded and mixed track: absolutely no supplementation, layering, or triggering was done.\n\n______________________________", "musiccaps_names": "[\"Drum\", \"Drum roll\", \"Rimshot\", \"Snare drum\", \"Bass drum\", \"Percussion\"]", "musiccaps_aspects": "[\"instrumental\", \"percussion instrumental\", \"drumming\", \"bass drum pedal\", \"thumping\", \"buoyant\", \"punchy\", \"energetic\", \"enthusiastic\", \"youthful\", \"infectious\", \"emphatic\", \"upbeat\", \"rhythmic\", \"catchy riff\", \"drum solo\", \"snare\", \"bass drum\", \"acoustic drum\"]", "musiccaps_author": "7", "youtube_id": "CYZZIkEw_jY", "musiccaps_rowid": 1375} {"video": "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HH3ryAEP308&start=30&end=40", "youtube_link": "{\"label\":\"Ableton Live Scratch Techniques: In the Studio with Mad Zach\",\"href\":\"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HH3ryAEP308&start=30&end=40\"}", "musiccaps_caption": "The song is an instrumental.
