The 2 draw and 3 blow holes are the same note on any diatonic harmonica 3.) The tuning of the harmonica is such that the draw notes are higher than blow notes on holes 1-6, and, conversely, the draw notes are lower than the blow notes on holes 7-10 The beginning of this free harmonica lesson deals with these items, and then I blow each harmonica note on the harp for four counts along with a metronome set at 90 BPM so that a beginner can play along through all of the holes on the harmonica, making sure it sounds the same as mine (if you are having trouble telling whether or not you are successfully isolating notes.) Then, with the metronome set at 90BPM, I play through the major scale on the middle octave of the harmonica on whole notes, half notes, quarter notes, and finally on eighth notes. Again, the idea is that you can play along with me and work on your middle octave 1st position major scale on your C Harp. This is a great exercise to start developing dexterity to play harmonica music.. Here is the 1st position major scale harmonica tabs in c: 4 4 5 5 6 6 7 7 o i o i o i i o 7 7 6 6 5 5 4 4 o i i o i o i o Notice how you have to change the order of blow and draw on the harmonica when you go from hole number 6 to hole number 7. This is something you're going to want to get really comfortable with in your harmonica playing.
