Great singers aren't easy to come by, so finding three in one band is something special. The Wild Reeds' music shines when Sharon Silva, Kinsey Lee and Mackenzie Howe harmonize, but each also takes a leading role — and that's the power of the L.A. band, whose songs are clear and memorable, potent and sometimes delicate.

The Wild Reeds' 2014 debut album Blind And Brave only hints at the talent on display here. Here, the group opens with my favorite song from the record, ""Where I'm Going,"" and then offers a taste of 2016 with two new ones. Next year ought to be a big year for The Wild Reeds, and this Tiny Desk Concert will show you what I mean.

Here is a brilliant concert by one of the most renowned musicians in the field of Carnatic Music, Sangita Kalanidhi D.K.Jayaraman. The maestro in his inimitable style has rendered rare compositions in ragas Asaveri and Pushpalathika. A superb delineation of Todi followed by a kriti of Uthukkadu Venkata Kavi and a soul stirring composition of Tanjavur Sankara Iyer in Raga Revathi are awe inspiring. The RTP in Shankarabharnam in all its grandeur is yet another highlight. The song Gangadheeswaram was sung for the first time in this concert which went on to be a huge hit among rasikas. Sangita Kalanidhi M. Chandrasekaran has provided marvelous accompaniment on the violin. The spellbinding percussive support and Thani of mridangam maestro Sangeetha Choodamani Trichy Sankaran has a lingering effect. This recording has been retrieved from the private collection of the DKJ family. 

DKJ, after learning music from his sister,Padma Vibhushan D.K. Pattamal furthered his musical skills under many known masters in the field, including Muthiah Bhagavathar and Papanasam Sivan.. DKJ, as he is fondly remembered in the music world, was known for his deep sense of Raga bhava, immaculate grip over laya and his soulful and moving kriti renditions, especially the compositions of the Musical Trinity. DKJ was also instrumental in popularizing songs composed by modern composers such as Papanasam Sivan, Periasami Tooran, Tanjavur Shankara Iyer, Dr.V.V.Srivatsa, Spencer Venugopal, Guru Surajananda, Neela Ramamurthy and others . He demonstrated singular creativity when rendering songs. His repertoire of songs was enormous. By constant practice and singing, he acquired a pliable voice which he used to its fullest range. DKJ's strength lay in his unique ability to bring out the beauty of uncommon kritis in rare ragas most effectively. Perrie Edwards has managed to keep a brave face on over the last few weeks, as she puts her heartbreaking split from fiance Zayn Malik behind her.

But the star let her emotions get the better of her, and broke down in tears as she performed with her Little Mix bandmates on the Today Show today.

Singing a solo for emotional song The End - heartbreakingly fitting given the circumstances - Perrie was forced to stop mid-way through as she was overcome with tears, with her best friends flocking round to comfort her.

Fans caught the sad moment on camera, and they've rushed to share it online - sending their well wishes to the star.
Jesy can be heard telling the crowd: ""It's been a long day, we've had no sleep.""

One fan wrote on Twitter: ""I just saw a video of Perrie Edwards crying and I started crying as well and I've been doing that for 20 minutes now.""

Another added: ""Perrie Edwards is everything to me I'm so hurt by her crying today :'c my bby.""

The crowd quickly began shouting ""We love you Perrie"" as she struggled to overcome her emotions and carry on.
However it followed another electric performance, as the stunning star put on an energetic show as she flashed her long legs in a white playsuit despite her recent heartbreak.

Wearing a very revealing outfit, Perrie showed off her famous pins as she joined her Little Mix bandmates to perform their new single Black Magic on the Today show.

Even after recently splitting from her fiancé, the singer looked to be great spirits as she smiled throughout the performance in New York.
The girls have been spending some time in the US - including an appearance at the Teen Choice Awards - and their promo tour included a visit to fellow Brit James Corden.

The chat show host comforted Perrie following her heartbreak, and pulled her close into a big hug.

He said: ""Are you OK? It has been tough few weeks.""
Perrie – who was dumped by her fiancé by text – said: “Do you know what? I am good.

“Things have been going so well in America. I wake up everyday and thank my lucky stars that I have these three girls.”

Her brave reaction was received with whoops and cheers from the audience and she received a massive hug from James - who is good friends with Zayn’s former bandmate Harry Styles.

Although it was a happy day for Little Mix as they celebrated their four year anniversary of being a group, the British singer couldn’t help but break down and cry in the middle of their LiveStream. Raised in a working-class African-American neighbourhood on the north side of the highly segregated city of St. Louis, Berry grew up in a family proud of its African-American and Native-American ancestry. He gained early exposure to music through his family's participation in the choir of the Antioch Baptist Church, through the blues and country-western music he heard on the radio, and through music classes, especially at Sumner High School. Berry was still attending high school when he was sent to serve three years for armed robbery at a Missouri prison for young offenders. After his release and return to St. Louis, he worked at an auto plant, studied hairdressing, and played music in small nightclubs. Berry traveled to Chicago in search of a recording contract; Muddy Waters directed him to the Chess brothers. Leonard and Phil Chess signed him for their Chess label, and in 1955 his first recording session produced Maybellene (a country-and-western-influenced song that Berry had originally titled Ida Red), which stayed on the pop charts for 11 weeks, cresting at number five. Berry followed this success with extensive tours and hit after hit, including Roll Over Beethoven (1956), School Day (1957), Rock and Roll Music (1957), Sweet Little Sixteen (1958), Johnny B. Goode (1958), and Reelin' and Rockin' (1958). His vivid descriptions of consumer culture and teenage life, the distinctive sounds he coaxed from his guitar, and the rhythmic and melodic virtuosity of his piano player (Johnny Johnson) made Berry's songs staples in the repertoire of almost every rock-and-roll band.

At the peak of his popularity, federal authorities prosecuted Berry for violating the Mann Act, alleging that he transported an underage female across state lines for immoral purposes. After two trials tainted by racist overtones, Berry was convicted and remanded to prison. Upon his release he placed new hits on the pop charts, including No Particular Place to Go in 1964, at the height of the British Invasion, whose prime movers, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, were hugely influenced by Berry (as were the Beach Boys). In 1972 Berry achieved his first number one hit, My Ding-A-Ling. Although he recorded more sporadically in the 1970s and '80s, he continued to appear in concert, most often performing with backing bands comprising local musicians. Berry's public visibility increased in 1987 with the publication of his book Chuck Berry: The Autobiography and the release of the documentary film Hail! Hail! Rock n' Roll, featuring footage from his 60th birthday concert and guest appearances by Keith Richards and Bruce Springsteen.

Berry is undeniably one of the most influential figures in the history of rock music. In helping to create rock and roll from the crucible of rhythm and blues, he combined clever lyrics, distinctive guitar sounds, boogie-woogie rhythms, precise diction, an astounding stage show, and musical devices characteristic of country-western music and the blues in his many best-selling single records and albums. A distinctive if not technically dazzling guitarist, Berry used electronic effects to replicate the ringing sounds of bottleneck blues guitarists in his recordings. He drew upon a broad range of musical genres in his compositions, displaying an especially strong interest in Caribbean music on Havana Moon (1957) and Man and the Donkey (1963), among others. Influenced by a wide variety of artists—including guitar players Carl Hogan, Charlie Christian, and T-Bone Walker and vocalists Nat King Cole, Louis Jordan, and Charles Brown—Berry played a major role in broadening the appeal of rhythm-and-blues music during the 1950s. He fashioned his lyrics to appeal to the growing teenage market by presenting vivid and humorous descriptions of high-school life, teen dances, and consumer culture. His recordings serve as a rich repository of the core lyrical and musical building blocks of rock and roll. In addition to the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Linda Ronstadt, and a multitude of significant popular-music performers have recorded Berry's songs.
